| Hiking Adventure Itinerary
We start our week with a great breakfast before heading out on the trail. Today's activities are organized to get your hiking legs in gear! From the St Eugene Mission Resort we will travel to an old Forest Service Fire Lookout. Lakit lookout was constructed to spot fires throughout the Rocky Mountain Trench during the summer season. Lakit will provide you with an amazing view of the entire Rocky Mountain Trench. A scrumptious meal at Chef Bernard's will delight your taste buds.
Beautiful
wildflowers, marmots and pica, and gnarled Larch trees lead the
way into the Mause Creek Tarns. A tarn is a small shallow lake
in the alpine that is surrounded by mountains. We will head to
the top of the ridge to get a view of the Dibble Glacier. Back
to the Trickle Creek for a soak in the hot tub, your meal tonight
will be in the oldest building in Kimberley! The Old Bauernhaus
was originally constructed in Bavaria more than 350 years ago.
It was taken apart piece by piece and moved to Kimberley in the
late 1980's.
Traveling through the gold rush valley of the Wildhorse creek, we will hike into the local's favorite of Bear Lake. The lake is at the top of a rocky ridge along side gently sloping grassy meadows and old spruce trees. We can choose to hike to the top of the grassy ridges at the back of the lake to get a better view. Off
to Paradise. We will spend some time in the Purcell mountain range
today, hiking through dense old growth spruce forests and lush
green meadows, we arrive at Paradise Lake. Mountain goats are
often seen scrambling through the rocks around the lake, and the
bull elk spend their time wallowing in the mud flats of the meadows
below the lake. We can climb even higher and take in the grassy
slopes of the alpine ridges, a beautiful sight! Back
to the Resort for a soak in the pools to help you sleep the night
away.
Today we scale the rugged rocks of Cliff Lake. This lake sits nestled in a tight valley and the cool alpine waters cascade over the steep rocks holding the lake. The deep cool waters teem with fish and in the summer the lake is perfect for a refreshing swim before we climb our way down and take a quick stop in the little community of Bull River.
Our last day of hikes is the most spectacular! We will start early on this day and slowly work our way up, way up to the top of Fisher Peak the highest peak in the steepels range of the Canadian Rockies. At just over 9300 feet elevation the view from the top is amazing, even the Stanley Cup has been to the top of Fisher Peak! We will spend the evening having one last great meal in the Canadian Rockies.
